In the framework of strengthening Arab and international cooperation in the fields of human rights, sustainable development, and joint Arab action, Dr. Saleh Daher, President of the International Congress for Protecting the Rights and Freedom of Citizens (Shield), met with Mr. Adel bin Abdul Rahman Al-Asoumi, President of the Arab Parliament, during his official visit to Cairo.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation between the International Shield Organization and the Arab Parliament, particularly in areas related to the protection of human rights, support for peace initiatives, promotion of dialogue among peoples, and coordination of Arab efforts to confront current humanitarian and economic challenges.
Also present at the meeting were Dr. Ahmed Sweidien Ahmed Soudien, President of the Arab Union for Investment and Real Estate Development, and Dr. Ashraf Al-Far, Secretary-General of the Arab Dates Union. Discussions touched on prospects for cooperation in economic and development fields, as well as the role of the private sector in strengthening Arab integration and supporting humanitarian and development projects.
The meetings were held on the sidelines of the Arab Labor Conference, convened in Cairo with the participation of Arab ministers of labor and trade, government representatives, and regional and international organizations.
During the conference, Dr. Saleh Daher — accompanied by Mr. Cheban Yury, the Organization’s Advisor for International Relations — held a series of productive meetings with several distinguished figures, including:
Eng. Reda Jumaa, President of the Industrial and Commercial Chamber of the Sultanate of Oman,
Ministers of Labor from Lebanon and Egypt,
The Egyptian Minister of Trade,
Several members of the Egyptian Parliament,
The Deputy Speaker of the Syrian Parliament,
In addition to other senior officials and diplomats.
The discussions focused on key issues such as international labor migration, economic development, and the role of civil institutions in achieving social justice and protecting workers’ rights across the Arab world.
Dr. Saleh Daher emphasized that the International Shield Organization remains committed to promoting the values of justice, human dignity, and Arab cooperation. He stressed the importance of uniting efforts to address the humanitarian and economic crises affecting the region and to build a more stable and just future for Arab peoples.
He stated:
“Honest dialogue and effective regional cooperation are the true paths to achieving peace and development, and to protecting people from poverty, conflict, and exploitation.”
These meetings come as part of the International Shield Organization’s strategic vision to expand its network of Arab and international partnerships and to support humanitarian and developmental initiatives throughout the region and the world.
