A meeting was held today at the headquarters of the Gaza Municipality between the International Congress SHIELD – Palestine Commission and the Gaza Municipality, to discuss ways of supporting reconstruction efforts and alleviating the humanitarian suffering of residents in the aftermath of the recent Israeli aggression.
Mr. Mohammad Al-Dali, Director of the International Congress SHIELD – Palestine Commission Office in Gaza, met with Eng. Mohammad Hanoush, Head of the International Relations Department at Gaza Municipality, to address the dire humanitarian conditions in the city and explore means of enhancing humanitarian and service cooperation between the two sides.
During the meeting, Eng. Hanoush presented a detailed overview of the municipality’s urgent needs in light of the extensive destruction that affected infrastructure, public facilities, and essential services. He also highlighted the immense suffering of residents resulting from the acts of genocide committed by the Israeli occupation against civilians, which left behind massive devastation affecting homes, schools, hospitals, and vital facilities.
Eng. Hanoush emphasized the importance of joint local and international efforts to support reconstruction projects and provide immediate assistance, especially after the ceasefire and the revelation of the scale of the humanitarian and environmental catastrophe that has struck the city.
For his part, Mr. Al-Dali expressed International Congress SHIELD’s full solidarity with the Palestinian people, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to continuing its humanitarian and relief efforts for the displaced and those affected by the war. He also stressed the organization’s readiness to cooperate closely with Gaza Municipality in implementing urgent humanitarian and developmental projects aimed at easing the suffering of citizens and strengthening their resilience.
The meeting concluded with both parties underscoring the importance of continued coordination and joint work to support the local community and enhance the city’s ability to recover despite the immense challenges it faces.
