Those who ignite wars under the pretext of “self-defense” often conceal behind their slogans vast economic and political interests. Wars are no longer mere military confrontations for survival or the protection of sovereignty; they have become a profitable trade fueled by the blood of innocents and financed by the livelihood and dignity of nations.
The first and last victim in every conflict is the ordinary citizen — stripped of security, home, and future — in the name of “enforced peace” and “false freedom.”
The true beneficiaries of wars are not the countries whose lands are set ablaze, but those that export weapons and feed conflicts from across the seas. The giant arms corporations ignite the flames of war to increase their profits and maintain open markets in conflict zones. For them, war is not a human tragedy but a lucrative investment opportunity that yields billions at the expense of human lives and the destruction of nations.
War has turned into a fully integrated industry involving major powers, financial institutions, military manufacturers, and media outlets that promote illusions of “threats” and “external dangers” to justify the continuation of the arms race and the expansion of violence. While the fortunes of a few war profiteers grow, the circles of poverty, displacement, and deprivation widen across the world.
In the face of this painful reality, the International Shield Organization emphasizes the urgent need to spread the culture of just and lasting peace. Humanity today is in greater need of justice and dignity, not more destruction and suffering.
Peace is not weakness; it is strength built on respect for human rights and dignity. And justice is not a political slogan; it is a natural right of every human being — a right that can only be achieved by stopping the bloodshed and drying up the sources of the war economy.
Nations and peoples alike bear the responsibility to reject all approaches based on force and violence, and to uphold the choice of peace, awareness, and social justice. War leaves nothing behind but ruin, while peace builds nations and preserves human dignity.
The future of humanity will not be forged in arms factories, but in the minds of the free and the hearts of those who believe in humanity’s right to live in dignity, justice, and peace.
